WHAT A PROCESS. (review of Novian’s artwork. 2009-2010)
Starting from profile facebook recheck, novian reviewing the timeline on his facebook 2009-2010. He was found a fossil of Flikr, meaning Novian post with the title of the website Flikr album ‘corat-coret (doodles)’. Still with the old account name ‘Novian Ripkurt’, the link in check and it works illustrations still be saved even if the master freehand of this work is long gone. There appear initial process works Novian, and very much different from the current one. Aware of this process is a work (color, line, freehand, etc) and an idea, Novian directly intends to review some of the work of this initial process.
Some illustrations Novian is the initial period of trial and error exploration Novian of software CorelDraw and mix with general photo editing software at the time, All of work is all done by freehand drawing, scanned than final edited on computer. Here Novian tried to illustrate ‘events’ through visual images and, of telling personal experience (at that time also mention the process of maturation of ideas), to social issues at that time. ‘Berawal dari iseng, novian mereview timeline di facebook tahun 2009-2010. Ditemukanlah sebuah fosil dari flikr, maksudnya postingan Novian dari website flikr dengan title album ‘corat-coret’. Masih dengan nama account yang lama ‘Novian Ripkurt’, link tersebut di chek dan ternyata karya ilustrasinya masih ada tersimpan walaupun master freehand dari karya ini sudah lama hilang. Disana terlihat proses awal karya Novian, dan sangat jauh berbeda sekali dengan yang sekarang. Sadar akan hal proses sebuah karya (warna, line, freehand, etc) dan sebuah ide, Novian langsung bermaksud untuk review beberapa karya proses awal ini.
Beberapa karya ilustrasi Novian ini adalah proses masa awal dari coba-coba Novian ekplorasi software corelDraw dan mix dengan general photo editing software pada waktu itu. Karya ini semuanya dikerjakan dengan freehand drawing, scan dan edit on computer. Disini Novian mencoba meng-ilustrasikan ‘kejadian’ lewat gambar dan visual, dari menceritakan pengalaman pribadi (pada waktu itu juga lagi proses pematangan ide), sampai isu-isu sosial pada waktu itu. Ada beberapa ilustrasi juga nantinya jadi desain untuk kaos, dan menjadi awal-awal juga karya Novian tersebar, disukai, diterima, pencarian karakter dan di cetak.
